The short version: I collect what I need to run the site, I don't sell anything, and you can leave whenever you want.

What I collect

  • Your email address when you subscribe to the newsletter, send a contact message, or create an account.
  • Account information — display name and a hashed password — if you create an account.
  • Purchase records when you buy a digital product. Stripe handles the payment itself; I store the receipt and what you bought.
  • Pseudonymous analytics via Google Analytics 4 — page views and conversion events. I don't send Google your name, email, or account details.

I don't sell your data. I don't share it with anyone outside the service providers required to run the site.

Who else touches your data

These are the services behind the site. Each has its own privacy policy; read theirs if you want the full picture.

  • Beehiiv — runs the newsletter and stores subscriber records.
  • Stripe — handles payments. Card data never touches my servers.
  • Supabase — stores accounts and form submissions in my Supabase project.
  • Vercel — hosts the site.
  • Google Analytics — aggregate site analytics.

Each one was chosen deliberately. If I ever swap one out, this page changes too.

Cookies

  • Functional cookies keep you signed in and remember subscriber state on gated articles.
  • Analytics cookies (GA4) — persistent cookies Google uses to measure usage across sessions.
  • No ad-tracking cookies. No third-party ads anywhere on the site.

Your rights

You can:

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link at the bottom of any email.
  • Delete your account by emailing me at edmund.j.mitchell@gmail.com.
  • Request a copy of your data, or have it removed, at the same address.

I handle those requests personally. There is no support queue.

Updates

If this policy changes in a way that actually affects you, I'll note it at the top of this page. For material changes to account or purchase terms, I'll email account holders.
