Why I Started Over
A note on the rebuild: why I started over and how to follow along. Updated October 2026.
October 2026 update. A lot has changed since May. The new homepage is live. The newsletter is moving to a new email service (Resend), and existing subscribers come along with it. I'm writing at least twice a month now. Tools are coming later, and I'm not putting dates on them yet.
I rebuilt my website from scratch.
The old site accumulated cruft over years of half-finished experiments. Rather than refactor, I started fresh. Next.js, MDX, gated essays, a real component library, and a publishing flow where Claude Code can ship a new post via pull request.
This first post is a smoke test. The site is live; the system works; the launch email goes out at the end of Phase 2.
What's next
Right now the focus is simple: write good essays, at least twice a month, and send them to the people who asked for them. When something new is ready, I'll say so here and in the newsletter, not before.
